Nagaland Governor Advocates Mother Tongue Learning for Students

Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan emphasized the importance of encouraging students to learn their mother tongue and develop a strong affinity towards it. Addressing the 5th Academic Assembly organized by Janjati Shiksha Samiti, Nagaland, in Dimapur, Governor Ganesan highlighted that a solid grasp of one’s mother tongue lays a foundation for mastering additional languages, benefiting from the transfer of language structures. He lauded educators as role models who possess the ability to inspire and transform young lives.

Governor Ganesan commended the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as a pivotal moment in India’s education system, stressing that successful implementation hinges on dedicated institutions and teachers. He urged educational bodies to engage capable faculty to uphold quality education. Emphasizing the preservation of cultural heritage, he urged the integration of traditional knowledge into academic curricula.

The event saw the awarding of scholarships and certificates to 10 students, reflecting a commitment to educational progress. Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, and officials attended the program, which embraced a vision of elevated educational standards.
